Upon arrival, we made our way to Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, one of the most beautiful places in Hawaii, and our home for the duration of our stay. With its pristine white sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and swaying palm trees, Waikiki Beach exceeded all our expectations.

The best part of our trip was having our dear friend Frances, who had visited the island many times, as our private guide. Thanks to her extensive knowledge of the area, we didn’t have to do any research. She knew the place inside out and led us to all the hidden gems that only a local would know. One aspect that caught my attention was the made-to-order concept. The interactive experience of watching the skilled chefs hand-make the udon noodles right in front of you adds a level of authenticity and freshness to the dining experience. The noodles themselves are cooked to perfection, with a satisfying chewy texture that pairs perfectly with the flavorful broths.

The food here is undeniably tasty, although the price point may be a bit higher considering the no-frills concept. However, given its central and convenient location, it’s worth the splurge. The portion sizes are reasonable, ensuring you’ll leave satisfied. Located just north of the Waikiki Beach area on Kuhio, it’s a decent spot to enjoy relatively inexpensive Mexican cuisine.

While the vegetarian taco fell short of expectations, as it mainly consisted of vegetables without any additional fillings like tofu, the quesadilla was quite good. The tacos were the highlight for me, with fantastic flavors in both the fresh fried shrimp and kalbi steak options. I highly recommend this place for a quick and simple lunch. Although the topping selections may be basic, the quality of the meats used in the tacos is exceptional. If you find yourself in Waikiki, make sure to give Surf N Turf Tacos a try. While I haven’t personally visited Ono Seafood yet, based on my friend’s enthusiastic recommendation, it’s clear that Ono Seafood is a must-try for seafood lovers.

According to her, the freshness and quality of the seafood at Ono Seafood are exceptional and the menu offers a variety of seafood options, with a particular focus on poke bowls. She says one aspect that stands out is the wide selection of poke bowl flavors and combinations available. From classic options like ahi tuna and salmon to more unique offerings, there seems to be a poke bowl to satisfy every palate. The ingredients are carefully selected and expertly prepared, ensuring that each bite bursts with flavor and freshness. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable.
